22 Senators (from Luo Nyanza, Kalenjin Counties, and Central Kenya) voted in support of an amendment by Jubilee's Whip, Irungu Kangata.
Kangata's proposed that the changes to the revenue sharing start taking effect in 2022. Those who opposed the bill maintained that the amendment was merely postponing a problem. On the other hand, the proponents of Kangata's proposals insisted it provided a win-win for all counties.
The Deputy Speaker, Prof. Kamar adjourned the debate on Sakaja's proposal claiming they were past curfew time.
When the house resumes, it will debate Sakaja's amendment to the revenue allocation formula.
